Materials:  
  Everyone will need:  
  • watercolour paper 90, 120, or 300 lb will work; we will need at minimum 3 pages 8x10 but these can be in bits and pieces, they do not have to be full pages
  • watercolour paint- I use daniel smith, winsor newton, holbein or davinci but people should bring what they have
  • brushes- variety of sizes, shapes- but I will be bringing some if people do not have any
  • watercolour palette- need an area to put the paint and reservoirs to hold water and paint mixes
  • water containers

  OPTIONAL supplies- we use these in smaller quantities or not all the time, so only bring them if you have them
     
  • Pencil- most often I use a mechanical HB
  • Spray bottles (large or small, I use both for different projects
  • Liquid Frisket aka Masking fluid- I use Incredible White mask              
  • frisket remover
  • something to apply the frisket- I use a colour shaper or stylus
  • coarse Sea Salt
  • saran wrap
  • toothbrush
  • natural sea sponges
  • hair dryer
  • water colour pencils
  • fine sand paper 100 or 150 grit (only small amount)
  • permanent thin felt pen
  • white charcoal pencil
  • water dropper/pipette
  • Qtips
  • rubbing alcohol
  • scissors

Acrylic  With Laura Chandler

Class Info and supply list

Everyone will need 2 sheets of 9x12 paper or canvases as well as primary colours and/or secondary colours and black & white acrylics, brushes and palette


We'll get started right away painting our still life roosters with loose brush strokes while studying color and value contrasts for dramatic effect! We will work spontaneously and quickly in 3 stages - background, foreground and then a few quick finishing details. 

Everyone should have 2 paintings by the end of the evening. Lots of fun!!
Please note: the Artists Workshop has some acrylics available if you don't have any.

With a Draped Model Date: Thursday, November 23, 2017

Join us this Thursday Nov.23rd for model drawing! Bring your favorite drawing tools to practice capturing the human figure!

Things to bring:
  • Pencils, charcoal, conte, pens, pastels or whatever drawing materials you're most comfortable with
  • Sketch paper
  • Eraser
